Your appointment

What happens at a notary appointment.

California sets the procedure: every signer appears in person, identification is checked, the act is recorded in the notary journal, and the certificate is dated, signed, and sealed. The full five-step walkthrough is on the notary page.

Acceptable photo ID and your complete document

Do not sign the document beforehand unless you have been instructed to. The signer must personally appear before the notary.

Booking

Four steps, and your card never touches this site.

Scheduling runs on Square, so payment details stay with Square. Escrow coordinators can skip the deposit entirely.

  1. 01

    Pick a real open time

Square shows actual availability, not a request form.

  2. 02

    Reserve with a $25 deposit

It comes off your total, and it is refunded with 24 hours notice.

  3. 03

    Get your confirmation

Time and place by email and text. If additional details are needed, you will be contacted before the signing.

  4. 04

    Sign, then settle up

Pay the remaining balance by card or cash at your signing, once the papers are signed.

Questions

Common questions.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a current, acceptable form of identification and your complete document. The required identification can vary depending on the notarization and applicable state law. Do not sign the document beforehand unless you have been specifically instructed to.

How much does it cost?

$15 per notarized signature, the California maximum, plus a $25 to $75 travel fee based on distance. Loan signings run $150 to $225 depending on the document type, and document printing is $0.05 per page. Travel is quoted before you book. Notary services tied to veterans' benefits claims and vote-by-mail materials are free, as California law requires.

How soon can I get an appointment?

Scheduling depends on availability. Open times show on the booking page, or call (916) 856-8290 to ask.

Do you handle apostilles?

Yes, apostille facilitation including courier service to the Secretary of State, for documents heading overseas.

Can you tell me which document I need?

No. A notary public cannot provide legal advice, choose a notarial certificate for you, explain the legal effect of a document, or advise you on how to complete it. Contact the document recipient or a qualified attorney if you have legal questions.

Can I see references?

Yes, references are available on request from the title companies, escrow officers, and signing services WCID has worked with.

Need something notarized?
